Cancer and Obesity
I imagine many of you are way smarter than I am especially when it comes to this whole Cancer and Obesity thing. I had no idea that obesity could be the cause of some cancers. Who knew? I knew that heart disease and diabetes were caused by Obesity, but CANCER? So, sad to say, I learned about it the hard way. I was going to an OB/GYN in Abilene, TX and although he was a nice guy, he wasn't very thorough with me. I would tell him of my problems and his solutions didn't make much sense to me, so I changed doctors thanks to my nagging husband. As it turned out, I ended up going to a PA (Physician's Assistant) in Stephenville, TX who informed me one Freaky Friday morning of the problem. I had Uterine Cancer! Can you say, "Freaked Out"?
At age 42 I was going to the hospital for the first time in my life! Chuck and I had one child (born at home) and were hoping for more, but the complete hysterectomy took care of that for us. Thankfully, the cancer was caught early and was contained within the uterus. I am just about finished with my second year (5 years in all) of check ups and have 3 more years to go. So if you are like I was and know that things aren't working right in your body, TAKE ACTION and don't mess around! It could be more serious than you think.
